Rhodesia

Poplars Church is involved in a 'Local Ecumenical Project' in Rhodesia, with the aim of making Jesus more famous in this village.

Rhodesia, (sometimes confused by some with the nation of Zimbabwe, formerly called Rhodesia), is a small former mining village on the borders of Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The Local Ecumenical Project (LEP) is based in and around the old chapel building in Rhodesia. The building is in the process of being restored for both Church and Community use. The LEP works closely with the County Council Youth Club and the Village Revival Group and, as the facility improves, events for the whole village will be held in the Chapel.

The LEP comprises Poplars Church, St Luke's Church, Shireoaks and Worksop Wesley Church. The churches are working together to present Christianity in a contemporary and relevant way. The big message from the chapel is 'Jesus Loves You.'
