Nice to Meet You
We're sure you'll love meeting with us but we know going to a new place can be daunting, particularly if you haven't been to a church service before.
If it's your first time with Poplars the best time to find out more is at our Sunday morning service. We'll promise to give you a warm welcome and help you to feel part of the Poplars family. We emphasise that church is a family; we're a true mix of people but all loved and valued.
We meet together at 10.30am every Sunday. Join us for worship, prayer, testimonies, a sermon and a chance to meet others. There are also groups available for children.
We are based at The Golden Ball, 3 Victoria Square, Worksop, S80 1DX.
There is car parking available in front and behind the church building as well as a public car park (free on Sundays!) just a short walk away off Gateford Road.
What time should I arrive?
Our meeting starts at 10.30am. There will be a welcome team from 10am who will help you to feel comfortable and introduce you to others.
How long will the service last?
We usually finish around 12.15pm. After this, there will be refreshments, time to chat with others and the opportunity to receive prayer. Sometimes there might be cake too!
What happens during the service?
We usually start with a time of sung worship led by one of our bands. We then have notices, an offering and time for testimony before a message from one of our church leaders or wider team. There will also be the opportunity to receive prayer or ministry.
What should my children do?
We are a family and love our group of vibrant children! During the start of the worship time they may want to play, read, sing or dance as they like.
After our worship together children can attend one of our Junior Church groups. We have three groups catering for children aged 3-16 years old. Younger children stay in the main hall with their parents and we have a variety of toys and books available.
